Working with various state agencies, Progressive Horizons' residential group homes program helps Maryland reach its goal of transitioning people into community-based care, or independent living when appropriate.

The focus for all residential and treatment programs is on teaching the skills needed to increase independence.

This includes skill-building to participate in personal hygiene, grooming, housekeeping, food preparation (when appropriate), recreational activities, education and job enhancement. All programs provide 24-hour supervision. Developmentally/physically disabled residents are part of a day program. Residential foster care youth either attend school or are part of a GED program during weekdays.
